When did Jimmy work with you and for how long?
I had the pleasure of hiring Jimmy for his first job straight out of college at Welsh Publishing and have continued to work with him when the opportunity arose for more than 20 years.
Was this freelance or a fulltime relationship? What was Jimmy's position? Can you describe the job responsibilities?
As I mentioned in the previous answer, I've worked with Jimmy for more than 20 years. Originally hired as an Assistant Art Director, I had the pleasure of seeing Jimmy's career continually progress into Sr Art Director and Creative Director roles. I've hired Jimmy most recently as a freelance art director - with responsibilities including - branding, logo development, corporate reports and web/interactive/mobile designs and UX.
Did Jimmy miss a lot of work? Was Jimmy frequently late? Were there any issues you are aware of that impacted Jimmy's job performance?
Jimmy was (and is) an eager worker and often will work through the night or as late as needed to meet a deadline.
Did Jimmy get along well with management and co-workers?
Jimmy is a talented designer and as such is passionate about his work – but was always respectful when dealing with co-workers of all levels.
How did Jimmy handle conflict? How about pressure? Stress?
Naturally easy going, Jimmy tends to avoid conflict. Pressure and stress go hand-in-hand with creative work, especially when pitching new clients and fulfilling RUSH requests. With a career as long as Jimmy's, its obvious that he's been able to manage both successfully.
Can you speak to Jimmy's software capabilities?
An expert in all things Adobe - illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, etc.
Would you work with Jimmy again if the opportunity arose?
Jimmy has always been the perfect compliment to every team I've worked with. Quick, passionate, creative and professional are traits that make him a pleasure to lead and work side by side with.
